Mission Description
Context: Staying active is important. Create a Fitness Tracker similar to a step-counter watch that encourages you to move. This device will count steps and celebrate when you reach a goal.
Task: Using the Junkbot Core’s accelerometer (motion sensor), program it to detect a step – you can interpret a sudden jolt in the vertical axis as a step while walking. The device should count these steps continuously. Set a target, for example 100 steps. Once the count reaches the target, make the device do a little “celebration”: flash a pattern of LEDs or play a melody. You can also have it display the step count periodically on the matrix. Attach the core to a band or place it in your pocket to test it while walking.
Expected Output: A basic pedometer that increments a counter with each step and gives positive feedback on completion. During testing, you can shake the device back and forth in a walking-like motion; the counter on the LED increases with each shake. After the 100th step, the LEDs might blink in a smiley pattern and a victory chime plays. This imitates real fitness bands and motivates healthy habits through coding and sensors.
