Mission Description
Context: Turn your room into a futuristic space! Build an AI Gesture Controller that lets you control a device (like a light or fan) just by making a hand gesture, using an AI vision sensor. This can help people with limited mobility or just impress your friends.
Task: Use an AI camera module (such as HuskyLens or a webcam with a machine learning model) that can recognize specific hand gestures – for example, thumbs up, thumbs down, or an open palm. Train the camera on two gestures: one will mean “ON” and another “OFF”. Connect the camera output to the Junkbot controller (most AI cameras can send signals or you can interpret via a companion app). Program the microcontroller to turn an appliance on or off based on the received gesture command (e.g., turn on an LED lamp on thumbs up, turn it off on thumbs down).
Expected Output: A touch-free gadget controller. In a live test, showing a thumbs-up to the camera causes, say, the desk lamp connected to the system to light up. Showing a thumbs-down turns the lamp off. Another example: an open palm could start a fan. The response should feel almost magical – a wave of the hand changing the environment. This mission connects to real-world innovations in smart homes and accessibility, where lights or appliances respond to visual cues or gestures.
