Mission Description
- Context: Help protect your room or school lab with a basic Intruder Alert Alarm. This gadget will sense movement when nobody should be around and sound an alarm to scare off intruders or notify owners.
- Task: Set up a PIR motion sensor facing the area you want to protect. Connect it to the Junkbot Core and add an output like a buzzer or loud piezo speaker. Program the system so that when motion is detected (especially after a short initial arming delay to let the user leave the room), the buzzer rings loudly and an LED flashes. You can add a reset button to turn off the alarm once it’s triggered.
- Expected Output: A motion-sensitive security alarm. In testing, if someone walks in front of the sensor (simulating an intruder), the device immediately emits a loud siren sound and blinking light. This continues until you press the reset. If there’s no movement, the system stays silent. This mission links to real security systems used in homes and sheds light on how burglar alarms function using sensors and simple logic.
