Mood Badge

Mission Description

  • Context: Sometimes it’s hard for young students to tell others how they feel. Create a wearable Mood Badge that can show if you’re happy or need a friend, using simple inputs and outputs.
  • Task: Program the Junkbot Core’s LED matrix to display different emojis (like a smiley or sad face). Use two buttons – one for “I’m happy” and one for “I’m sad/quiet.” When a button is pressed, the corresponding face lights up on the badge. You can pin this badge to your shirt or school bag.
  • Expected Output: An emoji mood badge that clearly displays a mood icon. For instance, pressing Button A shows a happy on the badge, and pressing Button B shows a sad . This way, your classmates and teacher can quickly see how you’re feeling, and it can spark supportive conversations.

Student Goal

Program the Junkbot Core’s LED matrix to display different emojis (like a smiley or sad face). Use two buttons – one for “I’m happy” and one for “I’m sad/quiet.” When a button is pressed, the corresponding face lights up on the badge. You can pin this badge to your shirt or school bag.
