- Real-World Problem: Education is being transformed by technology worldwide, and the UAE and Qatar are eager to lead in modern learning. Traditional classroom methods often fail to engage all students – some advance faster, others need more help, and many get bored by one-size-fits-all lessons. The pandemic showed the value of digital learning, but also its challenges. Now, schools are blending in-person teaching with AI, VR, and interactive platforms to personalize learning. The UAE has smart classrooms with tablets and even VR field trips , and it’s incorporating AI tutors to tailor lessons to individual needs . Qatar, through initiatives like the Teaching and Learning Forum 2025, is showcasing how AI can boost student engagement and creative thinking in the curriculum . The core issue is making learning more interactive, individualized, and future-focused so that students gain the skills needed for a knowledge economy (coding, critical thinking, etc.), in line with national visions.
- Mission Task: Develop an educational technology solution that delivers personalized, immersive learning. One option is to create an AI-powered learning companion – for example, a chatbot or app that helps students practice a subject (math, language, coding) and adapts the difficulty or style of instruction based on the student’s performance. Another idea is a VR/AR learning experience: a team could design an augmented reality app that brings textbook content to life (e.g. an AR app that lets students scan a history textbook image and see a 3D historical scene with narration). Students should produce a prototype of the app or AI system and demonstrate how it personalizes the experience (different responses, levels, or content for different users).
- Key Skills: Coding (especially for AI or app development; using tools like Python AI libraries or Unity for VR), UI/UX design (making it student-friendly), AI/ML (for adaptive learning algorithms), and content creation skills (curriculum knowledge to make the content accurate and relevant).
