Mission Description
- Context: Extend your plant monitoring to a full Smart Greenhouse system that automatically controls multiple factors to keep plants happy – great for science projects or real farming applications.
- Task: Build a model greenhouse (a clear box) and equip it with sensors: a temperature sensor, humidity sensor, and a light sensor. Also include outputs: a small fan (for ventilation), a mini water pump or servo (for irrigation), and an LED or lamp (for grow light). Program your Arduino-based controller to maintain ideal conditions: if temperature gets too high, turn on the fan; if soil or air is too dry, water the plants; if it’s too dark during daytime, turn on the grow light. Use feedback loops – e.g., water until moisture is back to target, then stop. Log data to an LCD or serial monitor for tracking.
- Expected Output: A self-regulating greenhouse prototype. During a demo, you could simulate high temperature by gently heating the sensor – the fan starts whirring until temp drops to normal. Let the soil dry – the pump kicks in to water until moisture is adequate. Cover the light sensor – the grow light LED turns on mimicking sunlight. This holistic project showcases multi-sensor integration and is directly applicable to real-world agricultural technology, tackling environmental control for healthy plant growth.
